The team of Microsoft Exchange has been doing wonderful job by introducing a new way to import Outlook PST file in Exchange environments. This blog post will go over the complete process how to manage the import PST process using Exchange Management Shell in Exchange 2013 server with New-MailboxImportRequest.
Before starting the import process, one thing to keep in mind is to completely check the PST file data which you want to import in Exchange server. Reason being, the cmdlet will import whatever data that is in PST into the particular mailbox. In other words, there is no confirmation of the content being imported in mailbox.
Now to start PST importing process, use this following syntax:
“Where
Mailbox- Name of user Mailbox
FilePath-Enter the PST file location”
Above mentioned command helps to import .pst file into mailbox. But if you want to restore PST into Online Archive mailbox then follow this syntax:
“Where
Mailbox- Name of user Archive Mailbox
FilePath-Enter the PST file location”
In this segment we’ll learn how to import all PST into Exchange 2013 mailbox account (make sure that the file and mailbox name should be same).
Conclusion
The above mentioned command helps to import PST into mailbox or archive folder of Exchange 2013 server. In case you are unable to successfully perform PST to mailbox import process through the New-MailboxImportRequest commands, then I would recommend Exchange Import Tool party software. This application is a complete solution to import single or multiple PST into Exchange mailbox account.
