This normally happens when:

  • Information Store is not active.
  • Information Store has failed due to some reasons.
  • It is not able to make contact with the Exchange Server.

Possible Resolution of the Event ID 8206

Perform the steps mentioned below to resolve the Event ID 8206:

  • Check the system log files for the unexpected service error of the Information Store.
  • Check the application log files to find out Errors related to MSEXchangeIS.
  • Verify that, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store is active from the service console.
  • Check the event and errors corresponding to these events from the application logs to collect more information about the error.
  • If still you are not able to resolve the issue that contact with the support team of Microsoft.

You can also use the Tools provided by Microsoft to troubleshoot the Exchange related problems. By using these tools, you can check out and improve the performance, mail flow etc. To run these tools open Exchange Management Console and run these tools from there.
